Enrollment Process

Prospective participants who wish to join the GEC Gap Year program must meet the minimum Essential Eligibility Criteria, which is necessary for participation. The program’s admission policy is non-discriminatory and does not consider factors such as race, color, gender identity or expression, religion, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, age, or disability.

STEP 1: Complete the Initial Application Form and pay the $200 application fee.

  • The application fee is deducted from the total program tuition and is not an additional fee.
  • If you are not accepted into the program, this fee is refundable.
  • While this fee does not guarantee a spot in the program, it allows you to begin the application process. The date of your initial application and fee payment will be used to prioritize your application over those received later.
  • If you withdraw from a program after being accepted, GEC will transfer your application fee to an alternative program upon request.

STEP 2: Create or log in to your MyGEC account and complete your enrollment form.

  • You can start your application and save it as partially completed to finish later.

STEP 3: Schedule an interview with your GEC Gap Consultant.

  • Once accepted, you and your family will receive a welcome email with the next steps.
  • If you are not accepted into the program, we will notify you and refund your application fee.

STEP 4: Pay program tuition to confirm your spot in the program.

  • Spaces are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Your spot in your first-choice program is not guaranteed until 50% of the tuition is paid.
  • The final program payment is due by the following dates:
    • Fall Programs: June 20th
    • Spring Programs: November 15th
  • If you apply after the final payment date, full payment is due within 14 days of applying.
